Space the Final Frontier…

Space the final frontier was the tag line of Star Trek’s Captain Kirk at the start of every episode as the SSS Enterprise entered warp speed and the stars became a spark like blur emanating from the centre of our screens

Select Interiors Manchester’s tag line is Love Your Space and like the crew of the SSS Enterprise we want to take your space, full of endless possibilities to be the best it can be within your budget

There’s a vast gulf of interstellar spaces between Select Interior’s creative approach and the Klingon competition

This scheme is being designed by Select Interiors ltd for a north west based printer and media company is to create a shop, staff area with kitchen, informal meeting area, quiet room, mezzanine storage and a studio with external glazed breakout space The above clip from the Presentation illustrates the building fabric and existing beam arrangement are to be stripped back. See image of Brown glazed brick has been covered in layers of paint. When receiving a brief from company Director Bob Hawley a statement that stood out was ‘’raw and honest’ in relation to wanting exposed services and raw materials

Select Interiors designers have interpreted the brief some elements of which are illustrated above. The company logo neon sign in the proposed rear Studio manufactured from raw blackened steel. The washing machine tumbler will be upcycled and turned into a feature pendant light in the combination staff breakout and informal meeting area (see below). The materials have been carefully selected for economy and aesthetic qualities, with OSB splash backs and upstands above workbenches in the print area and shop

The competition (Klingon’s) ideas are terrifyingly empty. There is end-less space between Select Interiors and the myriad of ways we employ to create interiors with a unique vitality within a limited budget as illustrated above, and the rest…

Hab Sosl’Quch! Is a Klingon phrase which translated literally as ‘’your mother has a smooth forehead,’’ which apparently is a powerful insult. We at Select Interiors Manchester interior commercial design and fit out company would not use the phrase when addressing our competition as we would not wish to offend.

Above is an image of Uninspiredughh (translated in to English as Kevin) after being informed that Select Interiors ltd are tendering for the same design and fit out project that he is…

In the words of Dr Spok ‘’it would be highly illogical to go to the competition when Select Interiors commercial & office fit out company offer creativity with passion, at an affordable cost’’ …resistance is futile.

So ring 0161 445 4040 4040 or email the link team@select-interiors to avoid the need to go to Kevin……and for your Office Manager to be saying ‘‘beam us all up Scotty from this bland space’’

Below are examples of some completed projects with plan layouts and presentations to illustrate the proposals, and some completion images

Space plan by Select Interiors Ltd for Mediacom in Spinningfields Manchester to accommodate additional staff and increase value per sqft by creative space planning. The executive office below was created where a former storage area was located. We dismantled the storage, took all the items to storage and built this cool office for Finance Director Erica

The work at Mediacom in Spinningfields included radial floating bulkheads with concealed Led lighting, spiral ductwork with diffusers sprayed to compliment the colour scheme. Radial seamless glass partitions, power, data and flooring. The creative re-alignment of partitions and storage area to accommodate an additional 8 staff and the executive office above to squeeze value per sqft for Mediacom

The above area was converted by Select Interiors Manchester from a closed fixed screened executive space (5 desks) into an office comfortably accommodating 20 staff. With adjacent Kitchen / Staff breakout, access to top floor balcony and informal meeting booths and boardroom is a self-contained creative hub for the new media team

Select Interiors Manchester completed the full demolition and fit out of the ground and 4th floors to create an additional 23 number staff and an executive office for Finance Director squeezing best valued out of the available space. The works were completed over an eight-week programme whilst the office was live by phasing the works incorporating weekends to complete the messy demolition phases
