Top 6 Office Interiors Trends Clerkenwell Design Week 2018
The Select Interiors team spent the week in Clerkenwell for Design Week which attracted over 30,000 visitors. The event spread over a square mile in the heart of London’s trendiest location is a must see in the calender to see what’s new in the world of commercial office and interior design. Clerkenwell is the key design district and hosts three days of product launches, installations, and inspiring talks. The following images are some of the manufacturers and products we found interesting and exciting
No 1 – Work on colour trends, patterns and textures by research by Sedus. This award-winning furniture manufacturer impressed the Select Interiors team. They have invested in research to establish colour palettes that compliment and match or contrast. At this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week their colour, fabrics, surface finishes boards illustrate how innovative work settings can substantially contribute in creating office environments which enhance people’s happiness, communication, collaboration and wellbeing
With fabric colours and surface finishes becoming an important part of the modern office environment we really liked their boards illustrated below
Urban – Reserved, structures and muted tones with heavier textured wool mix finishes and fabrics
Creation – Activating, Refreshing and Bright
Nature – Human, Rooted with heavier textured neutral wool to compliment the warmer tones
Nature – Soft, reduced and personal including within the palette the colour du jour Millennial Pink
Number 2 Note Design – Flexible screens
Note Design‘s Focus divider can be rolled up and stored in a backpack for nomadic office workers who need more privacy. Created for office divider brand Zilenzio, the panels come in several sizes. The larger size is suitable for the floor, surrounding an entire workstation, with smaller versions for table top use. Note Design intended its Focus Dividers to be easily moved within offices that have flexible working arrangements or seating layouts. They can curve in multiple directions.
Select Interiors comment; The Focus dividers come at a time when office surveys show workers are suffering from a lack of private space that is limiting their creativity and productivity. “From our experience as designers and nomads, working from hotels and cafes, we often get the feeling that within shared public spaces people need something that helps them create their own space within a larger context”
The screens are available in a range of colours, the dividers are made from lightweight materials and have ridged sections that allow them to be easily folded for storage and transportation
“Focus is a textile space divider, flexible to shape after your needs.”
Focus is the latest in a series of portable panels designed to help office workers find privacy in busy environments.

We at Select Interiors judge the success of the buildings and places we design by the way people use and enjoy them – the clients who commission them, the people who inhabit them. Good design is about helping clients meet their needs and objectives. It is also about the way people feel when they experience it, a sense of meaning, connection and belonging
